10 easy breakfast ideas

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! It gives me the strengths I need in the morning and makes me feel full of energy, full of creativity and motivated to get through the tasks of my daily to-do list! You can actually find some FREE printable to-do lists here if you want to start using one as well! It’s really helpful to stay organized and have a better overview of what needs to be done during your day.

10 breakfast ideas - pancakes

I CAN NOT start the day without breakfast! I can’t be productive if I don’t get my breakfast as my stomach would LOUDLY remind me that it’s empty and it needs food! No chance of focusing on anything under those circumstances!

So I always take 15 extra minutes to get my breakfast. I generally choose options that are quick and easy to prepare, but I also like to treat myself a bit if I have more time.

My favorite 10 breakfast ideas are the following ones:

Breakfast idea 1: Bowl of fruits & Greek yogurt

I used to do this one as a breakfast or an afternoon snack! It takes literally 5 minutes to prepare and it’s sooo delicious! I just take a Greek yogurt and put it in a bowl. Then I add some berries on top (generally I choose strawberries and raspberries, but you can also use blueberries, apples, kiwis or whatever else you like!). Then I add my secret ingredient on top: my secret ingredient is jam… I add some liquid jam on top of it to give an extra sweet taste. You can alternatively use honey if you prefer.

Breakfast idea 2: Scramble eggs and bacon (and some optional extras)

I love to have scrambled eggs for breakfast when I’m really hungry in the morning. I found it filling enough to hold until lunch! And the best way is to prepare them and serve them with some bacon. You can also add baked beans, tomatoes (grilled with some garlic and butter on top!) and eventually even some roasted potatoes! (To be honest, I rarely add the potatoes at home but I always order them when I have breakfast out in a restaurant!).

Breakfast idea 3: Avocado and scrambled eggs toast

This is really yummy as well! Instead of serving your scrambled eggs in a plate, add them on top of a warm toast! Then prepare some smashed avocado (you can add a bit of lemon juice if you like it! I always do and it’s delicious!) and spread the avocado on another toast. You can add a few sunflower seeds on the avocado to give an extra taste and a crunchy aspect. It’s a really good and easy combination!

Breakfast idea 4: Porridge with honey and nuts or fruits.

I use to hate porridge until someone told me to try with honey inside… It changed my opinion completely! Now, I really like porridge! I just add one tablespoon of honey in it and eat it like this. BUT you can also eat your porridge with cut fruits (like berries or mango, for instance) OR with a mix of nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, etc.)

Try the different options and see what you like best!

Breakfast idea 5: Toasts with butter and jam

This option is perfect for rushed starts in the morning! You toast your bread, spread some butter and jam on it when it’s toasted perfectly and then … That’s it! Time to enjoy!

Ma favorite jam to use is the raspberry jam from “Bonne Maman”. I love the texture, the taste is authentic and you can really feel the fruits. In other words, it doesn’t taste chemical at all! That’s what is important to me.

Useless fact: We call this breakfast a “tartine” in French.

Breakfast idea 6: Smoothies

Smoothies are the best options for the ones who don’t like big breakfasts. It’s filling but healthy, and you can take it with you if you’re in a rush!

My favorite one is orange juice (1 glass), raspberries (100g) and wild berries (100g). If you find it too acid, you can add a tablespoon of Greek yogurt or honey.

Breakfast idea 7: Granola with yogurt and berries

The easier way to prepare this is to take a transparent glass and put some jam on the bottom (2 tablespoons should be enough), then add Greek yogurt and some granola on top. You can also add nuts or dry fruits if you want to customize it a bit.

If you’re not a fan of jam, you can also replace it with apple mousse or cut fruits.

This is super quick and easy to prepare and it’s a pretty breakfast to photograph if you want to feature it on your Instagram!

Breakfast idea 8: Pancakes and Crêpes

This one is a great option for when you have people over for breakfast.

The advantage of pancakes is that everyone can prepare them according to their own taste. Bring the pancakes ready and put all the toppings on the table (chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, sugar, fruits, Nutella, etc.) and let everyone serve themselves with their favorite toppings. As easy as this!

As it takes a bit of time to prepare, this is more a weekend recipe for me.

PS: For the fruits fan or healthy food lovers, you can use the following alternative: the 2-ingredients pancakes. It’s really easy to do: you just need 2 eggs and 2 ripped bananas and blend them together. And tada it’s ready to cook!! Personally, I like to add a tablespoon or two of flour, but for trying both, the result is excellent in both case! So it’s up to you…

Breakfast idea 9: Waffles

Waffles is a breakfast that I also rather keep for the weekend. I guess you’ll understand why… It takes wayyyy more time to prepare! But it’s sooooo good! If you need a recipe, you can find one here. Here again, you can prepare your waffles and let everyone add whatever they like on top, but to be honest, this recipe is so good that I can even eat the waffles without anything on top! It’s not too sweet, you have this little taste of vanilla that makes it all and it’s melting in your mouth! Absolutely and simply de-li-cious!

Breakfast idea 10: French toast

French toast is soooooo delicious! For the one who doesn’t know what a French toast is, here is a little bit of insight: Imagine a huge slice of bread, soaked in eggs and milk and fried in the pan… That sounds good no?! You can find the recipe here if you want to give it a try!

It’s super easy to prepare, it’s great to stop wasting bread and you can adapt it to every taste! Serve it with chocolate, or jam or fruits, it doesn’t matter because it will be yummy! Just prepare it the way you like.

If you were tired of having the same breakfast every day, I hope this inspired you for your next breakfasts! For the others, I hope this gave you some extra ideas to try! (maybe on a weekend?!)

Unfortunately, I can’t eat bananas unless they are cooked (which means… Banana bread I’m cominnngggg!) but just imagining this bowl makes me hungry!! Great one!

    1. Nice strategy! I used to do that with my lunch: I cook it so I can have it ready as soon as I want (without having to go out).
Scrambled eggs are so yummy! I always get some if I have an early flight when I travel, as I know I wouldn’t be hungry until noon 🙂 It’s quite filling 😉

  5. I grew hungry reading this! I used to love French toast growing up! I hate porridge but I might try your suggestion and see how I feel. I’ve never tried jam with the Greek yogurt and fruit/granola. I used to wonder why it tasted so bland. So thank you for that suggestion. I too am a fan of breakfast and like a quick one as I don’t have time in the weekdays to prepare! Thank you!

      1. I often feel nauseous if I eat too early so I’ve started taking breakfast to work for my moening tea break. I’m going to try some of these options over the weekends though.

      2. I can understand :/ It happens to me as well if I wake up in the middle of the night to go traveling. It’s sometimes too early to eat and my stomach makes it clear to me!
I hope you’ll like these options for the weekend then! 😀

  6. I agree, breakfast is very important. I usually start with coffee for breakfast and follow up with brunch when I finally get some down time. I do love easy meals. I have not tried avocado on toast just yet and I’ve been meaning to give it a go. The rest also sounds simple and yummy too.
